G4 wakes up when heavier load is switched

Hi everybody,

this is a little off-topic - but maybe here's someone reading familiar with G4 psu internals…

My G4 sawtooth psu is working fine, just one annoyance: When a heavier load around in the AC grid is switched (e.g. 12V halogen lights, powered by a big transformer), my G4 wakes up from sleep.

I guess that the reason might be a partially dried out electrolytic capacitor. As this is the reason for a defect quite often, I'd like to swap all the critical capacitors in the psu. Can anybody tell me, which capacitors are in danger to fail after a number of hard work years.

For convenience, I uploaded some photos here:

So maybe someone could sign the exchange candidates. I'd be happy to provide the pictures to the public afterwards.

Yours, Wolf

My G4 MDD had exactly the same symptoms. A few months later, its PSU died. If you know how to prevent it, by all means act now.
