I wanted to order a power supply for my Mac, since the old one croaked. But have been confused when it came to the voltage and number of rails I am seeing on different models. Since the conversion kit doesn't use the 4pin connector from the ATX powersupply is that a whole rail or portion of a rail that doesn't get used? Does that mean I should get a PSU with either a very high amperage on the single 12v rail or at least a multiple rail PSU but still with high amperage?
My confifguration is as follows:
AGP Graphics G4 with Sonnet Technologies Encore ST Dual (Dual 1.8 GHz G4 with 512KB L2 cache)
ATI Technologies Radeon 9700 128mb AGP Video Card
2 Sonnet Technologies Tango 4-port USB 2.0 Controllers
Sonnet Technologies Tempo SATA E4i Controller
Pioneer DVR-112 DVD-RW Drive
Iomega Zip250 Drive
Maxtor DiamondMax 10 160GB PATA HD (Connected to Internal ATA100 Controller)
Maxtor DiamondMax 10 250GB PATA HD (Connected to Tempo SATA Controller with ATA to SATA Adapter)
Note: Adapter Requires Floppy Drive style power connector
Seagate 7200.11 500GB SATA HD (Connected to Tempo SATA Controller)
I hope someone can shed some light on what I should look for in terms of 12v rails and and amperage.
